Favre Traded to Jets

Can we now get on with our lives now that this overblown soap opera is over?

This has been nothing but a distraction to the team and the fans of the Green Bay Packers.

All the Favre fans can now go to New York and leave those of us who bleed green and gold alone.

Finally the media and Favre faithful can stop stroking this prima-donna’s ego, or go to New York to do it, and stop making it sound like it’s all Ted Thompson’s fault. Sorry. Favre retired. He’s the one who’s been jerking the Packers around every off-season for the last six years or so.

The Packers were the greatest franchise in NFL history before Favre was born and will remain that way long after he’s dead and gone.

One lousy SuperBowl trophy, that’s what he brought us. Otherwise he compiled an impressive but meaningless set of PERSONAL stats. Football is the ultimate team sport. We don’t need any I, Me, My Guys disrupting things.

Good luck, Brett, we had some good times, but your recent shenanigans have ruined your reputation. Now the Jets can deal with your prima-donna “I’m retired.” “No, I’m back” crap. We had some good times, some laughs, but things just got…weirdly needy on your end.

Oh, yes, and good luck in New York. Packer fans are forgiving to a fault of their heroes. But New York fans? When that inevitable game losing interception is thrown, boos will swarm around him like mosquitoes in a swamp, totally unrelenting. And the media? Whooboy!

A new page is turned and this blog going forward is now a Favre free zone. Never to be discussed again.

Go, Pack, Go!

  1. yea, someone else who sees the Packers for the Packers not just “Brett’s team”. I shed my tears and said my good-byes when he retired in March. I wish him luck but … New York? Maybe he shoulda talked to Eli before heading that way.

Why couldn’t he just stay retired? Seemed like some of the dumbest crap, but then I’ve only been following lightly.
