Musical Monday

Just because I miss him. Here is a retrospective of Ian Dury, gone eight years now. If you don’t know anything about him, Google his name or go to Wikipedia. I’ll just say he was at his peak in the late 70s as part of the punk/new wave era of music and he was, in my opinion, one of the bright imaginative lights of that era.

We’ll start off with the sensitive love ballad, “Wake Up and Make Love to Me.”

And there you go, a brief retrospective of the genius that is Ian Dury and the Blockheads. I know you’ll rush right out and buy their CDs, or illegally download them, whatever the case may be.

And while you’re at it, hit me with your rhythm stick, it’s nice to be a lunatic.

We’ll see what we can come up with for next week’s Musical Monday.

Nothing beats vinyl for sound and experience.

It’s surging back, too, by golly. Good news indeed.
