Poetry Corner

Here, for you personal bemusement is just another example of why the title “Poet” will never be appended to my name.

Uninspired by the Light

Uninspired by the light,
I walk in darkness.
The fears of a hundred deaths
Wait for me unseen.

Yet I pursue the night,
And avoid the day,
For the darkness surrounds me in a cloak of comfort,
While the light reveals the evil that waits.

  1. I like it, Shadow, but they read separate to me. The first stanza makes me think of death and those waiting for us. The second stanza makes me think of a vampire. Both stanzas are good and could probably be made into two separate poems. But that’s just me, who isn’t an expert in poetry. 😀

  2. That’s an interesting interpretation, Bea. I’ll have to see what I can do in that regard. It is however, much more introspective and personal than that. It’s about my failure to take a cold hard look at my own fears and insecurities.
