Happy Birthday, Frankenstein

Back in 1818, on this date, Mary Shelley published “Frankenstein, or, the Modern Prometheus.” She was 19 at the time.

Many might consider it one of the first modern speculative fiction books. The story of a man creating life from death. Those of us in the speculative fiction field own Mary a debt of gratitude.

And I hope I don’t need to explain that Frankenstein was the man. The monster didn’t have a name.
